Works are Featured in Capitol Building Executive Offices, Governor’s Mansion
Chris Dougherty joins a select group of artists in the latest installment of the “Art of Georgia” display, a curated grouping of paintings and photographs presented by the Office of the Governor and Georgia Council for the Arts.
Chris Dougherty is among 40 contemporary Georgia visual artists who have been selected to have their landscape artwork placed in the executive offices of the State Capitol and the Ballroom of the Governor’s Mansion. Rather than a public exhibit, “Art of Georgia” is placed in official state spaces to inspire policymakers, visitors, and dignitaries. Guests of the Governor’s Office experience the state’s diverse natural beauty through the eyes of talented Georgia artists whose work reflects the pride and character of the communities they call home.
“The selected artwork reflects a deep sense of community pride and a shared admiration for Georgia’s landscapes,” said Georgia Council for the Arts Executive Director Tina Lilly. “From rural vistas in South Georgia to metropolitan skylines, this display celebrates the talent and traditions of the people who call this state home. We are grateful to Governor Brian P. Kemp, First Lady Marty Kemp, and the Georgia General Assembly for their continued support of Georgia artists.”
“I am honored to have this opportunity to display my work in this exhibit. I am driven to create paintings that reflect the natural beauty of Coastal Georgia. “
Since 2012, the “Art of Georgia” series has provided a meaningful platform for Georgia artists to share their talents and bring inspiring landscapes to the heart of state leadership. A total of 51 pieces from artists representing 23 counties collectively highlight the breathtaking landscapes of Georgia.

The Camden County Wildcat Wrestling program continues to prove why it is one of the most dominant forces in Georgia wrestling — and this season added even more history to an already legendary legacy.
🏆 Our Boys Wrestling Team captured the GHSA 6A Traditional State Championship, and in a truly remarkable showing, all 14 state qualifiers finished in the TOP FIVE of their respective weight classes — an incredible testament to the depth, discipline, and determination of this team.
🔥 Ryder Wilder etched his name into Wildcat history as the first-ever 4x undefeated State Champion, while also earning the prestigious Outstanding Wrestler Award.
💪 Hunter Prosen claimed another title, finishing as a 3x State Champion, and Brock Weaver closed out his high school career in dominant fashion as a 2x State Champion.
And the momentum doesn’t stop there…
