School Safety
Welcome Director of School Safety and Security
Our students deserve to learn in an environment that is safe, welcoming, and supportive. Our educators and staff deserve the peace of mind that comes from knowing their workplace is secure and prepared. And our families deserve the confidence of knowing that every possible measure is being taken to protect their children.
Our Goals for This Year
As we launch the new school year, our immediate goals include:
Unified Safety Procedures: Establish and implement standardized safety and emergency procedures across all schools in the district.
Campus Safety Reviews: Conduct comprehensive safety assessments at each school to strengthen physical security measures, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency preparedness. These reviews will also address enhanced safety protocols for large crowd events, such as athletic games, performances, and assemblies.
Student Engagement: Launch initiatives that involve students in safety efforts through peer leadership, awareness campaigns, and open dialogue.
Looking Ahead
School safety is not a single solution; it is an ongoing commitment. As we grow, we will continually adapt, innovate, and collaborate to meet the evolving needs of our students, staff, and community. I invite you to be part of this journey with us. Together, we will build a culture where safety is everyone's priority and responsibility. We encourage you to partner with us by reinforcing, in age-appropriate ways, the importance of being prepared and aware of personal safety. Together, we can help our children build confidence and resilience in any situation.
If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We are here for you.
With gratitude and purpose,
Kizziler S. Knight
