First Block Announcements

General Announcements 

  • Students who are interested in learning more about teaching and opportunities in the field of education are encouraged to join Future Georgia Educators Club. Applications are available in C12.

  • Junior and Senior girls: Are you interested in competing and winning scholarships? Talk to your Miss Wildcat Scholarship Pageant club sponsor and get involved. Applications are in Room E-9. Deadline is Oct. 1

  • On Wednesday, August 21st, FBLA will be meeting after school in room H-4. There will be ice cream and door prizes.

  • On Wednesday, August 21st, the Connections Club will be having their first monthly meeting in room G-10. All students are welcomed.

  • On Wednesday, August 21st, Key Club will be holding its first meeting immediately after school in room K-11. All are welcome to join!

  • Are you interested in competitive coding? CCHS has a new Coding Club. An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, at 2:30 in room C-6. Anyone who would like to compete or would like to learn more about the club is welcome.

  • Attention all actors and technicians! If you are interested in participating in drama club this year, please join us for an informational meeting this Wednesday, August 21, after school in the CCHS Auditorium.  In addition to information about how to join the club, we will share plans for the year, service activities, and even a few theatre games.  Refreshments will be served at the end of the meeting.  For more information, contact Ms. Perez-Lugones, Mr. Hill, or Dr. Slusser.

  • The Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FFCLA) will have its first meeting after school on August 29th until 4pm. Come prepared to learn about what's coming up for FCCLA.

  • Attention Seniors - your last opportunity to have your senior portraits taken for the yearbook will be Friday, September 6th after school and Saturday, September 7th. You must go online to Cady Studios to register for an appointment.

  • There are also a few reminders for our students: 1. Students are required to have your Chromebooks charged and with you in all classes - this includes advisory. 2. Students may not order food and have it delivered to the school. 3. Students must exit your vehicle upon arrival on campus.

This week is Red Ribbon Week. 

Today’s Red Ribbon Week fact is that almost 50% of teens believe that prescription drugs are much safer than illegal street drugs. How we drug abuse cost the United States $600 billion annually, but only 33% of that cost is actually due to illegal drugs. 


There will be Spanish Club meeting today at 2:30 in room E1. 

Please bring membership forms and dues.

General Announcements

  • Students who are interested in learning more about teaching and opportunities in the field of education are encouraged to join Future Georgia Educators Club. Applications are available in C12.

  • Science Bowl will be having its first meeting on Tuesday, August 27 after school in room A2. New members are welcome! Please see Mrs. McMurray (A2) if you are unable to attend the first meeting.

  • Attention SADD members - the meeting to discuss homecoming ideas will be held Wednesday, August 28 from 2:30-3:30 in room D-5. 

  • The Hero Club will have their first event on Wednesday, September 4th from 4-6pm at the St Mary’s Aquatic Center. The $10 Hero Club fee and waiver is due to Mrs. McMillan in room D-12 or Mrs. Allen in D-14 by September 3rd. 

  • Attention Seniors - your last opportunity to have your senior portraits taken for the yearbook will be Friday, September 6th after school and Saturday, September 7th. You must go online to cady studios to register for an appointment.

  • There are also a few reminders for our students:  1. Students are required to have your Chromebooks charged and with you in all classes - this includes advisory. 2. Students may not order food and have it delivered to the school. 3. Students must exit their vehicle upon arrival on campus.

  • Good luck to our Varsity Football team as they travel to Cumming to play against West Forsyth tonight at 7:30. Safe travels to all heading there and good luck wildcats!

  • Good luck to our Varsity Softball Team as they travel to play at Kennesaw mountain tonight at 4 and 5:40.

  • Good luck to our Volleyball team as they compete in Lowndes for a region tournament tomorrow starting at 10am.
