First Block Announcements

Monday, January 11

General

  • There will be auditions for the CCHS production of the Wizard of Oz today after school. Students will audition with a 45 second song selection from a musical of their choice. Please come prepared with your music and meet in the chorus room! If you have any questions please email Emma Hall. This audition is open to all students at CCHS!
  • Attention DECA students! This week we will be having practice Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in preparation for our state conference. We will have refreshments and prizes at each practice. Hope to see you there. 
  • CCHS Connections Club will be having their first Ambassadors Training of the year on Saturday, January 23rd from 9:00am to 1:00pm. All individuals interested in this training please come by Room F4 for more information or email Ms.Greer-Foster. 
  • Attention Spanish club members, a mandatory meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, January 12th, at 2:30 in room Room E-1. Please make sure you are on time. 
 Sports 
  • Good luck to the JV and Varsity boys basketball team as they travel to compete against Englewood with games starting at 5:30 and 7:00pm. 
  • CCHS Girls Soccer Try Outs will be held today January 11th through the 14th until 4:15 each day. You must have a current sports physical in order to try out. Bring cleats, running shoes, ball and water. If you have any questions please email Coach Agler. 
  • Congratulations to the ROTC rifle team for finishing 1st in the Warhawk Open Rifle Match in Anniston Alabama this past Saturday. 
  • Along with this congratulations to the Cataclysm, the competition dance team for bringing home the 3rd place trophy in the Pom division at their competition this past weekend.

The Varsity Boys and Girls Soccer Teams will be competing against Bruisnwick at home with the games starting at 5 and 7.

The Jv Tennis Team will be competing against Hilliard at home with the match starting at 3:30.

  • Join FFA today! Get involved and help us at our January meeting as we meet to make bird feeder ornaments tomorrow in the cafeteria. Food and treats will be provided.

  • Track and field try-outs will be extended today through the 22nd. Tryouts are open to all athletes! You may stop by to see Coach Humphrey in room D-2 if you have any questions!
  • This Friday come on out and support our Varsity girls and boys basketball team as they compete at home against Colquitt with the games starting at 6 and 7:30.
  • Also this Saturday come support our swimming Wildcats as they compete in the Camden Frenzy invitational at home starting at 10:00am.

  • Congratulations to all the FBLA members whom advanced to the state level competition. Our state level qualifiers were as follows: Ryan Dyals - Accounting 1 ,Jeremiah Sheffield -Intro to Information Technology, Angelik García - Personal Finance, and Asha Bass - Sales Presentation. Region winners were as follows: Jeremiah Sheffield - 3rd place introduction to Information technology and 2nd place - public service announcements. Also Ryan Dyals 2nd place accounting 1, Angelik Garcías 2nd place personal finance, Madison Yocum 1st place graphic design, and Asha bass 1st place sales presentation.

      • The wrestling team is seeking to win their 7th consecutive and 8th total State Duals Championship in school history. The Wildcat wrestlers will be competing this Saturday here in the 10/12 gym. Wrestling will begin at 9:45am with Varsity and JV Wrestlers in the future champions tournament competition. Our senior class of wrestlers will be recognized for all their hard work and accomplishments beginning at 11:30am. Immediately following the Senior ceremonies, the Varsity A team will be defending their title as best in the state in the Sweet 16 round dual meet at noon on Mat-1. Please come out and support the team.

      Applications for Mr. Wildcat are available on the CCHS website for all who are interested in participating.

      Buy your homecoming date a corsage or boutonnière! Come visit your FFA representatives during lunch on Monday, September 9th or Wednesday, September 11th to purchase one. You can also visit room B-10 after school to place an order. Final orders are due September 11th.

      Attention Seniors - your last opportunity to have your senior portraits taken for the yearbook will be today after school and tomorrow. You must go online to cady studios to register for an appointment.

      There are also a few reminders for our students:  Students are required to have your chromebooks charged and with you in all classes - this includes advisory.

      Students may not order food and have it delivered to the school. Lastly, students must exit their vehicle upon arrival on campus.
